About Our Team
Nordic Storm is a team of seven young engineers, Yana Burgess, Billy Wencl, Anders Taylor, Connor Snay, Garek Dobosenski, Jaden Neubauer, and Kaleb Long. We are mentored by Teresa Burgess and Barb Larson Taylor.
Thanks to the generosity of a local college, Gustavus Adolphus, we practice in the basement of Beck Hall on campus and use their tools.

Yana Burgess
My name is Yana Burgess. I am a senior at St. Peter High School and I have been in robotics for seven years, five of which I have participated in FTC. My favorite parts of robotics are designing and building the robot. I also really enjoyed attending the World Championship in Detroit last year and meeting Dean Kamen at the Dean’s List lunch. Outside of FTC, I am in soccer, Math League, and track. I also love to go rock climbing. |
Anders Taylor
My name is Anders Taylor. I’m a junior at St. Peter High School. I’ve been in robotics for six years, four in FTC, two on this team. I am the team’s co-programmer with Kaleb Long. I also work with Jaden on the video awards. Outside of robotics I participate in competitive speech and play saxophone in multiple school bands. During soccer season you can hear me cheering my friends on from the fan section. |
Connor Snay
My name is Connor Snay and I am a sophomore at St. Peter High School. I’ve participated in FTC for four years and in FLL for three years before that. My favorite part of FTC is using CAD to design custom parts. My other hobbies include playing Dungeons and Dragons, video games, building sets for theater, and fencing. |
Jaden Neubauer
My name is Jaden Neubauer. I am a junior at St. Peter High School. This is currently my 4th year of FTC as well as my 4th year of FRC. My favorite part of robotics would definitely have to be the tournament because it’s always really cool seeing what all the other teams have come up with for their design. My hobbies include: Boy Scouts, soccer, theater, trap shooting, eSports, and, of course, robotics. |
Kaleb Long
My name is Kaleb Long. I’m a senior at St. Peter High School. I have been in FTC for five years, and before that I was in FLL for three years. My favorite part of robotics is programming the robot, especially the autonomous. I am also in Mock Trial. In my free time I like to play video games. |
Teresa Burgess
Hello, my name is Teresa Burgess. This is my fifth year mentoring FTC. I also mentored three years of FLL. I am most proud of how the team members have grown and overcome several obstacles over the years as they learn to think outside the box to find solutions. I also coach youth soccer with my daughter and am the regional MATHCOUNTS coordinator. I am a civil engineer at Bolton & Menk, Inc. in Mankato. I don’t appear in any of the photos, because I am behind the camera! |
